HOLMES FAMILY GENEALOGIES

By Carol McDavid
There are several branches of Holmes who lived on the Jordan Plantation, and some were not related to each other, or related only distantly. I interviewed Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holmes, and one of their relatives, Mrs. Pauline Baker, in October of 1998. They have me their permission to put some of the Holmes family genealogical information on this web site, but we would welcome the opportunity to have contact with any other family members. To contact us about this information, please do so by sending me a message at mcdavid@publicarchaeology.org or sending us a feedback form.

George Holmes Descendants
Claiborne Holmes Descendants
Isaac Holmes Descendants

[note: the name "Claiborne" appears as both "Claiborn" and "Clayborn", in different historical records.]

Hester Holmes
This is the only picture of any of the Holmes family members that we have. We would be VERY grateful for more.

The information included here is taken from various written records: census records, voting registration forms, family account books, and the like. We do not believe that it is necessarily complete, or completely accurate! We would welcome corrections or additions from any family member.

These listing do not include any living people for privacy reasons.
