Included with permission of Cassie Johnson, a member of the Board of Directors of the Levi Jordan Plantation Historical Society.This genealogy begins with Dern (Dimmy Doo) Johnson, who was born in Africa in 1814, and his wife Sharco, who was also born in Africa.

Most of this information is from census records, but some is from family history, as indicated below. The Johnson family has been very active in documenting and tracking its family history. Source: Mrs. Bertha Jammer and Mrs. Fannie C. Malone related the Johnson family genealogy to Barbara Taylor on October 28, 1995, at the first meeting of the Jordan Plantation Historical Society Meeting. They spoke of 4 Johnson brothers (Deber, Solomon, Pendleton, Jerry) and 1 sister (name not known). Jerry Johnson is Mrs. Malone's grandfather and Pendleton Johnson is Mrs. Jammer's grandfather.
