![]() Julia Mack (looking at genealogical book compiled for Mack Family)
|
|
Julia is a
direct descendant of John Mack, who was born in 1834 and
lived on the Jordan Plantation with his father Samuel
Mack (who was born in about 1797 in Africa) and his
mother, Ira (or Ina) Mack (who was also born in Africa in
about 1813). For more information on the Mack family
genealogy, go to Genealogies. Julia now lives in
Galveston, Texas during the week (where she is a teacher
in the Galveston Independent School district), and drives
home to Brazoria on weekends. Researchers have also found other Macks mentioned in the Jordan Plantation Records. These can also be seen by going to Genealogies.

My name is Miss Julia Lee Mack. I was born and raised in Brazoria County. I attended and graduated from Columbia-Brazoria I.S.D. After graduation, I entered Prairie view A&M University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a minor in art. After graduation, I returned home and worked in my local school district for twenty years as an early childhood teacher, kindergarten teacher, resource teacher, and finally a first grade teacher. In 1983, I received my Masters Degree in elementary education from Prairie View A&M University. In May 1995, I stopped teaching in the public schools. I became a substitute teacher for the Windham School District, which is in the prison system. I was a substitute teacher for nearly two years. My personal belief is that all children can learn when given the opportunity and time. I also feel that a mind is a terrible thing to waste.Go here to find out more about my family tree.. |
